#satipoftheday - Touch/Taste - May 23, 2021

Updated: Aug 5, 2022

Today we'll briefly take a look at the last two physical senses; touch and taste. Of all the senses, these two are probably the least useful in most general circumstances.

The times when touch would be most beneficial are when your other senses have become limited. In that case, your sense of touch can be--not only your best friend, but possibly the only one you have left. Escaping a fire is a scenario that immediately comes to mind.

Honestly, there's not much to say about taste. There are some chemicals and other substances that can leave a taste in your mouth simply by coming in contact with air that is carrying them; but in most cases, you're far better off paying attention to your more reliable senses.

And that's a wrap for that mini-series. Next week we'll talk about a whole different aspect of situational awareness, so don't miss it!
