No video this week, but it kind of goes hand-in-hand with the last one. Today is about the most foundational aspect of situational awareness--mindset.
In order to functionally, efficiently, and consistently grasp your surroundings, you first have to shift your thinking. You have to understand that danger (hazards, threats, risks, etc.) is real. Now, it's not just from criminals. It could be wildlife; it could be a natural hazard; it could be a result of a set of accidental, man-made circumstances. Regardless of where the danger may originate, you first have to acknowledge its existence before you can truly be aware of it. Once you make that choice, you've taken the first step in learning to command your space.
