The new school year is just around the corner! In fact, in my area, it starts tomorrow. It's stressful all the way around, for everyone! Parents #stress about getting their kids ready and dealing with teachers. Kids dread having to get up early again and having to deal with their parents and teachers. Teachers stress over lesson plans, and perhaps having to deal with parents again. In all of that, it's easy to become distracted and let your situational awareness go out the window. It's also an immensely important time to make sure you stay on your toes and teach it to your kids.
School is not just the place to gain general knowledge; it's a great place to begin building a foundation in SA. Like I mentioned in a post I made a while back, make it into a game. Quiz them on people and events that happened to them throughout the day. I bet if you asked, you would even have a teacher or two who would be willing to help you. You may even be able to help them with their own SA at the same time.
On what specific areas would you focus to help kids improve their SA? (Don't jump ahead, college students are next week.)
